At the beginning of February workers of Sokol celebrate the two momentous occasions at once: on February, 1 is a 77 year from the day of foundation of factory; on February, 2 is a 105 year from the day of birth of Hero of Soviet Union of test-pilot Valery Chkalov. History of factory and name of legendary pilot is closely. In 30th of past century he was the chief-pilot of factory. V.P. Chkalov tested the airplanes of designer of N.N. Polikarpova, built on Gorki including the famous I-16, wich was used during air battles of Wourld War 2.

At February 2 - the Sokol staff will visit the Chkalov monument in the city and will take part in celebration on heroes native town Chkalovsk. At February 6 the aniversary meeting wiil take place at Sokol.
